Our company is teaming up with Konoike Construction Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo Ward, Osaka City; President & CEO: Hiroki Watatsu, hereinafter “Konoike”) to recycle blue tarps used at construction sites into new blue tarps, in a project called “Blue Sheet Closed-Loop Recycling.” This is the first initiative of its kind in the general contracting sector.
*Re VALUE+ is our registered trademark representing the closed-loop recycling of blue tarps.

[Initiative Details]
Most of the waste plastic collected in Japan is used for thermal recycling, where energy is recovered by incineration. However, thermal recycling is just heat recovery, and globally it’s generally not recognized as proper recycling.
This initiative involves using the blue tarps we manufacture at construction sites managed by Konoike. After use, we collect and recycle them to make new blue tarps, which are then used again at Konoike construction sites. This counts as material recycling, which has a lower environmental impact than thermal recycling.
[Scheme Overview]
– June 2026: Use blue tarps made by our company at construction sites in Okayama Prefecture managed by Konoike for retaining walls and soil protection.
– Around November 2026: Collect used blue tarps, separate and wash, and process them into recycled pellets.
– Around Spring 2027: Our company will manufacture recycled blue tarps using 25% of the recycled pellets above, which will then be reused at Konoike construction sites.
[Future Developments]
This project aims to expand the blue sheet closed-loop recycling, which we have mainly implemented with housing manufacturers so far, into the general contractor sector. We expect this will further promote closed-loop recycling. Through this initiative, our company will strongly work toward realizing a resource-circulating society.
