Turning Discarded Materials into New Value. Launch of an Upcycling Collaboration with Hands Co., Ltd.

Hagihara Industries Inc. has launched an upcycling initiative in collaboration with Hands Co., Ltd. (Kasaoka City, Okayama Prefecture; President and Representative Director: Tsurue Komiyama), utilizing production offcuts generated during our manufacturing processes through Re:UP, Hands Co., Ltd.’s original brand.

Under this initiative, production offcuts generated during the manufacturing of our sheet and mesh products will be supplied to Hands Co., Ltd. Using these materials, the company will design and manufacture bags, accessories, and other items at the employment support facilities it operates for people with disabilities, and market them under the Re:UP brand.

Through this collaboration, we hope to create new value from production offcuts that have previously been difficult to utilize effectively, while also supporting the employment assistance activities for people with disabilities carried out by Hands Co., Ltd.

Products created through this upcycling initiative will be offered as unique items that make the most of the distinctive characteristics of each material.

We will continue to promote initiatives that contribute to the realization of a circular economy while helping address environmental and social challenges through collaboration with local businesses and social welfare organizations.
