Advanced Washing Line Delivered to a Leading Plastic Recycler

Our advanced washing line, developed using the blue sheet closed-loop recycling technology pioneered by Hagihara Industries, has been installed at a leading plastic recycling company in Okayama Prefecture.

A key challenge in achieving the world’s first closed-loop recycling of blue sheets was the removal of contaminants from used sheets through an advanced washing process. Hagihara Industries successfully overcame this challenge and began commercial operation of the advanced washing line in June 2025.

The Engineering Business Division of Hagihara Industries markets advanced washing lines incorporating this proprietary technology. The first unit was delivered to ambitus, a new recycling facility operated by Daisei Ecology Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture; President: Yoshitaka Takada).

At the facility, collected post-consumer packaging shrink film is washed and processed to remove contaminants such as paper and adhesive tape. The cleaned material is then converted into dewatered flakes and subsequently pelletized at another facility to produce recycled plastic resin.

To maximize cleaning performance, large volumes of water used in the process are separated into dedicated washing and rinsing streams. Wastewater is treated and recycled through Membrane Bio-Reactor  technology, enabling efficient water reuse. By recycling both plastic materials and process water, the facility delivers an environmentally responsible and resource-efficient recycling solution.

Hagihara Industries will continue to contribute to the development of a circular economy through advanced recycling technologies and the supply of related equipment.
