On June 24, 2026, Hagihara Industries Inc. presented at the 37th Annual Conference of the Japan Society of Polymer Processing. During the conference, we introduced our initiatives on horizontal recycling (closed-loop recycling) of blue tarps.

The conference was held under the theme “Beyond Limits: Envisioning the Next-Generation Society through Materials, Processing Technologies, and Data.” It provided a forum for discussing visions for the next generation of society by exploring the potential of advanced materials and promoting the integration of processing technologies and data science to help realize a smarter and more sustainable future. Our presentation, titled “Progress of Blue Tarp Recycling ‘ReVALUE＋’ and Key Concepts for Achieving Advanced Material Recycling,” highlighted the technical challenges we overcame to achieve the world’s first horizontal recycling of blue tarps.

We also emphasized the importance of collaboration and partnerships beyond our organization to make this possible.
