- Mid-Term Management Plan
The Medium-Term Management Plan “V for J – V-shape Recovery for Jump Starting Growth,” formulated in December 2022, aims to enhance corporate value through two main pillars: earnings growth by continuing the steady implementation of the main strategies from the previous plan, and a financial strategy focused on capital efficiency.
Positioning of the Medium-Term Management Plan
Given the significant shortfall in targets during the “UPGRADE For Next 60” Medium-Term Management
Plan announced in December 2019, this three-year Medium-Term Management Plan aims to lead to the next leap
forward by
❶ Achieving the goals that were not met.
❷ Implementing a new financial strategy.
Key Performance Indicators
We will carry over the earnings targets of the previous plan that fell short, and set this as the
starting line for the next phase of growth by achieving solid targets through V-shape recovery and J-shape
growth strategies. We will also set new financial targets to improve capital efficiency.
V-Shape Recovery Strategy for Adapting to the Business Environment
❶Achieve fair prices, strengthen product
competitiveness
To properly reflect the rising prices of raw materials and utility costs in our product
prices, we will improve the quality and usability of our products to deliver value to our customers
commensurate with those prices, and add our own unique value to our products to avoid engaging in price
competition with our competitors.
❷Establish an Optimal Production and
Logistics System
Commencement of BarChip Production in South America
We will commence production of BarChip in Paraguay to ensure a stable supply in the
major demand center of South America, shorten lead times, and mitigate the risk of rising ocean freight
costs.
Relocation of Chinese Sheet Production Functions to Japan
In June 2023, we completed the liquidation of our Chinese subsidiary Qingdao Hagihara
Industries, thereby finalizing the relocation of the Chinese sheet production functions to Japan.
Optimal Production of the Engineering Business
We are revising the supply chain for machinery products to shorten delivery times and
prevent cost fluctuations.
