On Saturday, January 24th, our company employees participated as instructors in “Discover My Future! STEM Challenge Classroom in Kasaoka” (hosted by the Cabinet Office, co-hosted by Kasaoka City, and supported by the Kasaoka City Board of Education).
This event, organized nationwide by the Gender Equality Bureau of the Cabinet Office, aims to support students interested in science and engineering fields in making career choices.
Three local employees from our company, involved in quality assurance and product development, participated. They presented on their reasons for pursuing science and engineering studies or careers, the reactions of those around them, their current job responsibilities, and the advantages of choosing a science and engineering path. Additionally, in the workshop “Chemistry Classroom,” participants used materials manufactured by our company to experience the process of developing a new product. This allowed them to discover the joy of manufacturing—turning customers’ “I want this!” into reality. We observed participants enthusiastically engaging in the activity, thinking, “What if we tried this?”
Through such experiences, we hope the younger generation pursuing STEM fields will support and advance future manufacturing.
