Hagihara Industries Inc. is pleased to announce the commencement of full-scale operations of its recycled pellet production line, a key component of the company’s ReVALUE+ initiative. This initiative is designed to promote horizontal recycling by converting used blue tarps into new products, contributing to a more sustainable and circular economy.
A major technical challenge in horizontal recycling is the effective removal of impurities from post-use materials. Previously, the washing process was outsourced to external contractors located outside the prefecture. With the recent installation of a new in-house washing unit adjacent to our existing pelletizing equipment, we have now established a fully integrated recycling process.
The newly implemented washing system is capable of shredding, washing, and dewatering used tarps with high precision, enabling the removal of impurities to a significantly higher standard. This advancement not only ensures the consistent production of high-quality recycled pellets but also enhances overall production efficiency through streamlined operations.
Looking ahead, we plan to expand the ReVALUE+ initiative by building a nationwide collection network for used tarps, thereby scaling up horizontal recycling efforts. In parallel, we are advancing joint research with strategic partners to strengthen material traceability and further improve the efficiency of recycled pellet production. We also intend to leverage the insights gained through this initiative to drive the commercialization of related recycling technologies and equipment.
