At the ongoing “Osaka-Kansai Expo,” the signature pavilion “Adventure of Life,” produced by renowned animation director Shoji Kawamori, showcases Hybrid Prestressed Concrete (HPC®) developed by HPC Okinawa Co., Ltd. HPC® employs carbon fiber instead of traditional rebar, resulting in a thin yet robust concrete that is resistant to rust and bursting. Our group’s product, “BarChip,” serves as the reinforcing fiber. Environmentally, the concrete is mixed with seawater and incorporates CO2-fixing aggregate derived from biomass ash.

Furthermore, this HPC® has received certification from the Building Center of Japan (BCJ) for the “HPC® Wall Panel Method” used in exterior wall panels. The BCJ certification system evaluates the performance of construction methods, materials, equipment, and building plans against building codes and other technical standards.
